Los Angeles Rams: Cooper Kupp Back at Practice Since August 1

The Los Angeles Rams are trying to tune up and bounce back in 2023 and that helps with wide receiver Cooper Kupp returning to practice on Wednesday. He has not practiced since August 1 because of a hamstring injury. Kupp is a huge part of this offense and when healthy, he is one of the best receivers in the NFL.

Cooper Kupp only played in nine games last season and missed the rest of the season due to an ankle injury. The Rams finished with a 5-12 record last season after winning the Super Bowl (LVI) the previous season against the Cincinnati Bengals.

His stats in nine games in 2022 were 75 receptions for 812 yards receiving and six touchdowns. He averaged 10.8 yards per reception and was targeted 98 times. The year they won the Super Bowl, Cooper Kupp was Matthew Stafford’s favorite for the Rams and caught 145 passes for 1,947 yards receiving and 16 touchdowns. He was targeted 191 times in 17 games that season and averaged 13.4 yards per reception.

Outside of Kupp in this offense for Los Angeles, it is not deep at all. Last season, they had Allen Robinson on the roster and it seemed as if he and Matthew Stafford never connected at all. The Rams also did not have Odell Beckham Jr. because of a torn ACL.

Head coach Sean McVay wants to see this offense click this season if they want to get back to where they want to be. Stafford also suffered a season-ending injury last season for the Rams and played in nine games as well. His injury was a spinal cord contusion and it all went south for Los Angeles after that.

They hope everyone can stay healthy this season. After Kupp on the depth chart, Van Jefferson, Tutu Atwell, Ben Skowronek, Demarcus Robinson, and Paul Nauca are projected to be the 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 receivers on the Rams roster this season.

That is not ideal for them, especially if Cooper Kupp gets injured again this season. If healthy, he will be posting all sorts of stats and will be top five in the league at the position in the NFL.
