Giannis Antetokounmpo is like a freight train. When the Milwaukee Bucks star goes downhill, it’s better to make a business decision and get out of his way. As Kyle Kuzma himself has learned, there’s no stopping the Greek Freak.
Kuzma had some high praises for Antetokounmpo on Tuesday during a Twitter Q&A. With several teams getting a two-day break as a result of the NBA In-Season Tournament, the Washington Wizards forward used some of his time to engage with fans and answer some interesting questions.
One query that came out asked Kuzma about the toughest player he has ever faced. Antetokounmpo quickly came to Kuz’s mind, highlighting how physical the two-time NBA MVP is.
“Giannis up there. Mf will run at your chest every possession lol,” Kuzma wrote in response to the question on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is called the Greek Freak for a reason. Kyle Kuzma certainly learned that the hard way. The Bucks star is one of the most imposing players in the NBA today, and the great thing about him is that he’s not afraid to attack and contest any shot that comes his way.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s dominance in 2023-24
So far in the 2022-23 season, Antetokounmpo is averaging 30.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3blocks per game. He’s also making 61.1 percent of his shots, though his 25.0 percent shooting from deep can surely use some work.
What makes Giannis Antetokounmpo even scarier, however, is how often he attacks the rim. The Bucks superstar is actually one of the league leaders when it comes to drives. He’s no. 13 on the ranking and only one of two big men (along with Zion Williamson) to be in the Top 15.
Antetokounmpo is also putting up the fourth-most points in drives, only behind guards De’Aaron Fox, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Cam Thomas.
When the Bucks play the Wizards the next time out, don’t be too surprised if Kyle Kuzma decides not to challenge some of Antetokounmpo’s shots.
