There were more than a few reasons behind the Green Bay Packers’ deflating 19-17 loss against the Denver Broncos on Sunday night. In the end, however, it was Jordan Love who threw a game-deciding interception late in the fourth quarter that ultimately sealed the deal.
It would be completely unfair to pin the blame on Love for this loss, but at the same time, there’s no denying that he played a key role (again) in Green Bay’s fourth loss of the season.
Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love Reacts to Broncos Loss
Love ended up underthrowing his Hail Mary pass with Green Bay on third-and-20 with less than two minutes remaining in the game. It potentially would have been a massive game-winner for the young quarterback if the play worked out. Unfortunately, it did not.

A disappointed Love spoke to reporters after the game. The 24-year-old does not seem to regret the decision to go for that play at that point in the game, but at the same time, he also couldn’t help but wonder what would have happened if they tried something else:
“We dialed up a play, it’s made for that coverage,” Love said, via Mike Spofford of the team website. “Tried to get a shot over the top for Samori, but the backside safety made a good play on it.
“You can look back on it and say we could’ve did so many different things … who knows? One of those things, what if.”
There have been a lot of what-ifs for Green Bay these past few weeks, though.
Jordan Love Sounds Off on Green Bay Packers’ Brutal Run
Be that as it may, Jordan Love isn’t making excuses. He knows that the offense had a golden opportunity to secure a comeback victory on Denver’s own home field, but in the end, they just failed to deliver. Love, of all people, knows that the team just has to be better than this.
“We all know it’s ups and downs, but I think everyone’s very frustrated,” Love told reporters, including Ryan Wood of USA Today, during the postgame press conference (h/t Rexwell Villas of ClutchPoints). “We’ve got to find a way to win. Got to find a way to win these games. We’ve been put in this position multiple times where it comes down to offense have to go win the game, and we have not capitalized on that. So we’ve got to find a way, just that margin of error, and we are not capitalizing on these end-of-game situations. I think going forward, I think the situations are going to keep coming, keep being there until we find a way to capitalize and go win.”
Football is a team sport, which means that every single player on the squad will need to step up in order to help this team improve. However, there’s also no denying that it all starts with Jordan Love looking at himself in the mirror.
