Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has received criticism this season, but he has shown tons of progress and has put up quality numbers. Love has had seven games this season with at least two touchdown passes and zero interceptions.
He is the only quarterback this season in the NFL to have multiple games with those kinds of stats. Not even Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs has done it this season. This year, some could argue that Love has outplayed Mahomes and the numbers can show it themselves.
Jordan Love has completed 62.5% of his passes for 3,587 yards, 27 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Patrick Mahomes has completed 66.9% of his passes for 3,938 yards, 26 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
Love has thrown for more touchdowns and fewer interceptions than Mahomes has, but Mahomes has a better completion percentage and has thrown for more yardage. The fact that Jordan Love is still getting questions as to whether or not he is a franchise quarterback for the Packers is laughable at this point.
Love has answered a ton of questions and he also had led a few game-winning drives this season. Green Bay is 7-8 and Kansas City is 9-6. The Packers beat the Chiefs earlier in the month of December and that game is what caught people’s attention about Jordan Love.
Comparing Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Top Three Receiving Options Compared to Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has a very young receiving core compared to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Kansas City has had the most drops in the league this season compared to Green Bay. The top three receivers for Green Bay this season are Romeo Doubs (56 receptions, 646 yards, and eight touchdowns), Jayden Reed (54 receptions, 592 yards, and six touchdowns), and Dontayvion Wicks (33 receptions, 520 yards, and two touchdowns).
The top three receivers for Kansas City this season are Travis Kelce (90 receptions, 968 yards, and five touchdowns), Rasheed Rice (74 receptions, 811 yards, and seven touchdowns), and Justin Watson (26 receptions, 419 yards, and three touchdowns). Kelce is a tight end but he is also getting older. Rice is a rookie, but the most noticeable thing is that there is a drop-off for the third-best wide receiver on the roster.
Love has a better supporting wide receiver cast this season. He has improved and deserves the love and the hate needs needs to stop. However, Patrick Mahomes doesn’t have as strong of a supporting cast this season and hasn’t been as good to his standards. Love has outperformed Mahomes in two categories and vice versa. It is not fair to compare everyone to Patrick Mahomes but Jordan Love has outplayed him in certain instances this season.
