There will be many surprises during the Green Bay Packers training camp next month. We have seen a glimpse of what could occur during OTAs and mandatory minicamps earlier this offseason. Green Bay has a ton of young talent on the roster and they hope it can continue to ascend.
The Green Bay Packers offense has Top 10 to Top 5 potential this season. A lot of it will depend on how the offensive line develops and also if quarterback Jordan Love can take his game to another level.
Green Bay also has other questions to figure out with the depth chart. Many rookies stepped up for the Packers during the 2023 season.
Green Bay Packers Tight End Tucker Kraft Picked To Be a Breakout Candidate During Training Camp By Dairylandexpress.com
Many NFL analysts have made predictions throughout the NFL offseason for every NFL team. Different players have been mentioned already for the Green Bay Packers. The latest Packers player who was mentioned is second-year tight end Tucker Kraft.
Kraft was a third-round pick from South Dakota State in the 2023 NFL Draft. Brian Sampson of dairylandexpress.com made a list of five potential Packers players who could be a breakout candidate during training camp. Sampson said:
“There’s a great case for either tight end to be slotted into this position as a breakout candidate. However, I gave the nod over Luke Musgrave based on Tucker Kraft’s ascension at the end of the season.
Kraft (31 receptions for 355 yards and two touchdowns) and Musgrave (34 receptions for 352 yards and one touchdown) finished the season with nearly identical numbers. However, while Musgrave battled injuries down the stretch, Kraft was just finding his footing.
He had multiple receptions in the Packers’ last 10 games, including the playoffs. That included four of his last six games with at least 48 receiving yards. Kraft has more wiggle after the catch than Musgrave, who is more of a straight-line speed tight end. That YAC ability plays perfectly into the hands of what LaFleur wants to accomplish in this offense. Look for Kraft to continue to be heavily involved in the passing game next season.”
Green Bay has two reliable tight ends in this offseason. Musgrave missed some games last season because of a lacerated kidney.
Two Tight-End Sets are Possible
Even if Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft outperforms Luke Musgrave in training camp, head coach Matt LaFleur will use both of them quite often in the offense. Musgrave is listed as the starting tight end on the Green Bay Packers depth chart. Kraft is listed as the second tight end on the depth chart.
There is no doubt that they will use two tight end sets for quarterback Jordan Love because they are both reliable in the passing game. What is also scary about the Green Bay Packers offense is that not only are the tight ends good, they have reliable wide receivers. Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, Bo Melton, Dontayvion Wicks, and Romeo Doubs will also see targets from quarterback Jordan Love this season.
