The Green Bay Packers have found themselves an exciting young rookie wide receiver. Jayden Reed has outperformed expectations and more on offense.
Before the draft, there was talk that Green Bay should nab wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the first round. Now, a mere eight months later, not only would that evaluation be off the mark, but it likely wouldn’t have netted them Jayden Reed.
A second-round selection out of Michigan State Reed, has been a favorite target of Jordan Love this season and has blossomed in Green Bay’s offense.
The numbers indicate how massive Reed has been for the team’s offense this season.
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed is up there with another elite wideout as the only two players to do this season.
(Via Jacob Morley,) Reed joins CeeDee Lamb as the only players who have both 8+ receiving touchdowns and multiple rushing touchdowns. He is also the third rookie to do it since Chase Claypool (2020) and Ray Ramsey (1947.) (Via Morley)
Reed’s flexibility on offense has made the Green Bay Packers multi-dimensional on offense. In recent years, Green Bay has tried gadget guys on offense, namely Tyler Ervin, but it didn’t work. Green Bay has found a guy who can do both. Reed can take reverse handoffs or catch the ball in the slot. Green Bay finding a role for a player who can do both helped shape the future of the offense post-Aaron Rodgers era.
Two players have 8+ Receiving TDs and Multiple rushing TDs this season.

With the injury to Christian Watson and the inconsistency of Romeo Doubs, it could be argued that Jayden Reed has been the No. 1 wide receiver throughout the season this year.
Los Angeles Rams rookie wideout Puka Nacua has been the best-performing rookie at the position this season. After that, Reed is up there with Zay Flowers and Jordan Addison as players who have exceeded expectations in their first year.
Reed has one and potentially two or three more games to cap off a marvelous rookie season if he can suit up Sunday Night. Reed left Sunday’s game early last week with a chest injury and was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, but Reed did provide a positive update on his status for Sunday’s game vs the Bears.
Jayden Reed missed the second half of Sunday's game with a chest injury after catching six passes for 89 yards and two TDs in the first half.
Reed today: "Everything was fine. Went in and got the X-rays, scanned and everything was good … I feel pretty good."
