The Green Bay Packers got a huge win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. A 23-20 victory not only gave this young Packers team a boost of confidence, but it suddenly thrust the Packers into the eighth seed in the NFC. That’s one seed out of the final Wild Card spot.
However, it wasn’t all good news on Sunday. Multiple significant injuries took place including Aaron Jones and Emanuel Wilson. There was on injury that surfaced after the game that had many fans taken back.
Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur Announced That Tight End Luke Musgrave Was Hospitalized After Their Win Against The Los Angeles Chargers
Robin Adams of Wisconsin Sports Heroics reported it for our site:
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Coach LaFleur said that Musgrave was dealing with a “significant” abdominal injury. He also stated that Musgrave got hurt during the game, but did not say anything to the team until Monday morning.
While the exact nature of the injury is not known, LaFleur did state that Musgrave was taken to the hospital and that it was “a scary situation.” As of Tuesday afternoon, Musgrave has been discharged from the hospital.
In addition to Musgrave’s injury, veteran Josiah Deguara is questionable for Thursday with a hip injury. This means that the Packers’ tight end group is down to rookies Tucker Kraft and Ben Sims.
As far as how long Musgrave will be out, LaFleur did not say that he would be placed on injured reserve right away. However, he would not rule out a possible IR stint if he does not improve.
This is certainly a big blow for the Packers’ offense. Musgrave is just 23 receiving yards away from breaking Bubba Franks’ team rookie record for receiving yards by a tight end. He was also on pace to challenge Sterling Sharpe’s franchise rookie record for receptions in a season (55).
Packers Fans React To Musgrave’s Hospitalization
Musgrave has certainly turned into one of Jordan Love’s favorite targets. It has been obvious as the season as progressed. Losing him is not what the team needed going into a pivotal Week 12 matchup against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. When Packers fans found out this news, they reacted accordingly on social media:
Here’s the play where Packers’ Luke Musgrave lacerates his kidney.
He would go onto play 16 more snaps, catch a pass, get tackled, and make multiple key blocks.
NFL players are maniacs. pic.twitter.com/fqvElztmq1

Luke Musgrave really lacerated his kidney, still completed the catch, told nobody, and then played the rest of the game.
What a fucking baller.
