The Green Bay Packers and the rest of the NFL world await a decision from Aaron Rodgers on what he wants to do in 2023. By now, most believe that he will either agree to be traded to the New York Jets or retire. As rumors and reports about Rodgers and the Jets have gained steam, several Jets players have pleaded with Rodgers to agree to be traded to their team. Many of them believe that adding Rodgers to their roster would mean a Super Bowl for them. Absent from social media, though, have been Packers players stating their case for Rodgers to return to Green Bay.
Gary Ellerson, former Green Bay Packers Running Back, Wondered Why
Former Packers and Wisconsin Badgers running back Gary Ellerson is now a reporter for ESPN Milwaukee. When he saw so many Jets’ players recruiting Rodgers on Twitter and other social media, he wondered why Packers players were not doing that.
Just thinking bout all these Jets players asking 12 to come join them in New York on social media. Why aren’t 12 teammates asking him to stay here? 🤷🏽♂️

Green Bay Packers Cornerback Rasul Douglas Fires Back
Rasul Douglas has been having a field day on Twitter over the last couple of days. He recently taunted fans with several Tweets teasing insider information, leading Aaron Rodgers to Tweet:
SULLLLLL. 🤣🤣

In reference to Ellerson’s question regarding why no Packers players are recruiting Rodgers to stay, Douglas Tweeted the following:
Because we have his number . We can actually text him instead of writing it on social media 😂🤷🏾♂️. As our leader he knows how each person on the roster feels about him . https://t.co/DO7GCVsY8A

Running back Aaron Jones did make a public plea to Rodgers to come back on Good Morning Football, but in the same breath expressed faith in Jordan Love if he ends up being the starting quarterback.
