The Kansas City Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers will not meet during the regular season, but there is a slim chance that they could meet in the Super Bowl this year. The Chiefs are 3-0 to start the 2024 season and the Packers are 2-1 to start the 2024 season.

Green Bay faced Kansas City last season and the Packers won that game over the Chiefs. In the past, there have been former Packers players who have played on the Chiefs like wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Bleacher Report Predicts That the Kansas City Chiefs Will Sign Former First-Round Pick Cornerback Eric Stokes From the Green Bay Packers This Offseason

Bleacher Report Scouting Department made predictions for each NFL team regarding what they should do at the trade deadline, 2025 NFL free agency, and the 2025 NFL Draft. One of the things that they had Kansas City doing this offseason is signing former first-round pick cornerback Eric Stokes from the Green Bay Packers.

Green Bay did not pick up his fifth-year option this offseason. Bleacher Report said:

“Eric Stokes is going to be an interesting free agent. Injuries have made him difficult to evaluate. He played in only 12 games in the 2022 and 2023 seasons and didn’t look anywhere near as good as he did as a rookie in 2021. Thus far, he’s remained healthy and looked good on the field.

The Chiefs are the kind of team that could take a swing on a risky player like Stokes. They’ve done well enough at drafting and developing defensive backs that they would be OK if he gets hurt. On the other hand, they could get the best and most healthy version we’ve seen of Stokes next season.”

The Kansas City Chiefs are no strangers to taking risks on players who have had injury issues in the past. Kansas City has been the best team in the NFL over the last two seasons.

Packers Need To Draft a Cornerback In the 2025 NFL Draft

Assuming Eric Stokes was to leave the Green Bay Packers this offseason for either the Kansas City Chiefs or another destination, Green Bay is going to have to find a cornerback in the 2025 NFL Draft. They failed to address the position in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Stokes so far this season with Green Bay has recorded eight tackles. He has played on the opposite side of Jaire Alexander. Green Bay will need to find at least one or two cornerbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
