The Green Bay Packers are nearing the end of their NFL Draft scouting process with the draft less than one month away. There are plenty of spots needing to be filled for the depth to be ready to go for the 2024-25 NFL season. After the Green Bay Packers moved on from veterans like Aaron Jones and De’vondre Campbell there is a clear focus on a ‘youth movement’ ongoing in their personnel decisions.
The depth of positions like off-ball linebacker, safety, running back, and offensive line consists of many question marks. Although arguably the most important need in the draft is a starting-caliber cornerback. Despite the emergence of Carrington Vallentine alongside superstar Jaire Alexander, with the injury history of former first-round pick Eric Stokes and the unproven nature of Corey Ballentine, the Green Bay Packers new defensive direction under Jeff Hafley would greatly benefit from a legit young cornerback talent from the NFL Draft.
Green Bay Packers Host Alabama Standout Corner Kool-Aid McKinstry On Visit During Solar Eclipse
With pre-draft visits in full swing for the NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers have been very active in bringing players to Lambeau Field (see full list of visits below). The newest addition to this list is a standout prospect from the Alabama Crimson Tide Kool-Aid McKinstry. During the rare solar eclipse on April 9th, 2024, Kool-Aid McKinstry had a unique point of view of the universal event.

Ga’Quincy ‘Kool-Aid’ McKinstry was one of PFF’s highest-graded coverage corners last season and has been a very sound tackler and willing run defender. He’s also forced 20 pass breakups, 16 of which came in 2022, and had one interception. A two-year starter at Alabama, McKinstry has played 2,199 career defensive snaps, most of which occurred on the boundary. During that two-season span, he allowed a completion rate of 47.5 percent and 10.1 yards per catch.
The 6’0 200lb corner sports the ability to live on an island with high-quality talent and be productive. McKinstry has a knack for staying with receivers as well as making plays on the ball and negating passes. McKinstry would be a fierce competitor for CB2 in Green Bay immediately, with a man coverage ability that would fit well with the new direction of the defense.
