The Green Bay Packers are looking to upgrade at multiple positions on the defensive side of the ball during free agency. With re-signings and franchise tags happening throughout the week before free agency, these transactions are watched closely by all of the NFL. Sometimes a team re-signing may portray allowing other players to hit free agency.
Rising Star Patrick Queen Likely To Hit Free Agency
The talented Baltimore Ravens had multiple key players finishing their contracts with the team. Typically it is hard to re-sign multiple rising stars. Both DT Justin Madubuike and MLB Patrick Queen earned second-team all-pro honors for the Baltimore defense. With both contracts expiring, the Ravens were met with a decision on who to keep in Baltimore.

Racking up more than $24.5 million a year for the next four years, the Ravens have committed a significant amount of their future to Justin Madubuike. This decision is the writing on the wall for pending free agent Patrick Queen.
Green Bay Packers Can Pursue Patrick Queen

The Packers are short-handed at the off-ball linebacker. With Quay Walker showing signs of being a quality starter and Devondre Campbell slowly declining, it is likely the Green Bay Packers look to bring new talent to middle linebacker. With all signs pointing to the former LSU first-round pick hitting the free market, Green Bay should do their due diligence on the talented middle linebacker.
Patrick Queen posted an impressive 73.1 PFF grade with over 90 solo tackles as the number two to former Chicago Bear Roquon Smith. The standout linebacker had a 4.5 40 time in the 2020 NFL Combine and his speed shows on the field. His versatility and instincts at the underappreciated position can’t be reliably taught.
Under the direction of Jeff Hafley, the duo of Quay Walker and Patrick Queen would be a pair that could cover a lot of field space. If the Green Bay Packers decided to make quarterbacks heads spin, the addition of Patrick Queen would be effective to those efforts.
