There are a great deal of questions surrounding the 2023 Green Bay Packers. After trading Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, the team is transitioning to unproven fourth-year quarterback Jordan Love. In addition, the team’s wide receiver room is composed entirely of first and second year players. In other words, the Packers are a complete unknown on offense, and that does not bode well for preseason rankings and predictions. There are not many who believe the Packers will be good in 2023, which would mean that they would receive a very high draft pick.
A recent article on ESPN dove into the analytics and presented some odds and stats that project what next offseason will look like for each team. These projections do not point to a successful 2023 season from Green Bay.
The Green Bay Packers Have a 5% Chance to Get the Number 1 Pick in the 2024 NFL Draft

According to the article on ESPN, the Packers have a 5% chance of being the worst team in the NFL in 2023. Of course, this would result in their getting the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The projection, though, actually has Green Bay having the seventh overall pick, which would point to a less-than-stellar season.
What is interesting, though, is that ESPN also gives the Packers a 49% chance at a top-10 pick. This is obviously close to 50%, and points to the level of uncertainty surrounding the team. Sure, they could very well preform poorly and end up with a high draft pick. On the other hand, they could also preform well and be in the hunt for the NFL Playoffs.
In case you’re wondering, the Arizona Cardinals are projected to have the first AND second overall picks. The second pick would come via the Houston Texans.
