The Green Bay Packers (2-5) will face off against the Los Angeles Rams (3-5) in Week Nine. The Packers are coming off their third straight loss of the season after suffering a brutal 24-10 loss at home to the Minnesota Vikings. The Rams have lost two in a row after being blown out by the Dallas Cowboys 43-20.
Both teams are looking for a win in the worst way, however, one team is going into the week knowing that their Super Bowl Champion leader may not be suiting up.
Los Angeles Rams Quarterback Matthew Stafford May Not Suit Up Against The Green Bay Packers

According to ESPN’s Sarah Bishop:
Sean McVay said Matthew Stafford has a UCL sprain in his right thumb and is day to day.
Jesse Morse, a Sports Medicine Physician, elaborated further on the injury:
While this is actually great news, although he still may not be very accurate in Week 9 due to the swelling & difficult in gripping the ball. Stafford had this ligament repaired in 2021 after injuring it in 2020.
So the reason why he likely didn’t fully tear it is because it was previously repaired. Overall, good news!
During the second quarter, Stafford suffered a right thumb injury, and he was replaced by veteran backup Brett Rypien. The Rams were already struggling mightily against the Cowboys at the time. The Rams have their bye week next week (after their matchup with the Packers).

Sometimes in the NFL, all it takes is one win. If the Packers are facing the Rams’ backup QB, or a not fully healthy Matthew Stafford, could they take advantage?
Sitting at 2-5, the Packers’ playoff hopes are dwindling fast. Very fast. Getting a win in Week Nine would be a huge confidence boost for the team. Week Nine kicks off In Lameau Field at 12:00 PM Central Time.
