The Green Bay Packers and Head Coach Matt LaFleur found success very early on in his head coaching career.  LaFleur’s first three seasons included three 13-win seasons, two NFC Championship appearances, and three NFC North division crowns.

However, the last two seasons have left a lot to be desired.  In 2022 the Packers finished 8-9 and were eliminated from playoff contention in their regular season finale against the Detroit Lions.  This year the Packers have gotten off to a poor 3-6 start and seem to be looking at a top draft pick in 2024.  Could LaFleur’s future in Green Bay be numbered?  One report certainly thinks so.

After Gutekunst took a chance on Love and drafted him in the first round in 2020, it was up to the coaching staff to get him ready to take over the franchise.

Packers President Mark Murphy plays a critical role in any franchise-shifting decision. July 13, 2025 will mark the date when he will become mandatory to retire at the age of 70. In the event the team continues to deteriorate, would he stand pat with Gutekunst and LaFleur and let his successor make his own hires? To make his final mark on the franchise, would he make a move at head coach and/or general manager?

      Does AI write this garbage?

A future can’t be numbered. It’s something that can be short or infinite.

Days are numbered. Because they are finite units suitable for numbering, not a vaguely defined future.
