Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick sustained a hip injury Friday night against the New York Mets. He underwent x-rays and an MRI and was deemed to be dealing with a contusion. On Tuesday, October 1 the Mets will come back to Milwaukee for the 2024 Wild Card Series and Frelick says that he is good to go.

While the Mets were in Atlanta playing a doubleheader the Brewers were at American Family Field getting some training in. Among the players on the field was outfielder Sal Frelick. MLB.com reporter Adam McCalvy shared a pair of videos of him running the bases.

Sal Frelick said that he is “good to go” after going through base running drills.
After completing an on the field workout Adam McCalvy was able to ask Sal Frelick how he was feeling. Frelick said that he is “good to go” for the playoffs. The Brewers will have to make the final decision tomorrow when Wild Card Series rosters are announced.

What would be the lineup implications if Sal Frelick is not able to be on the Wild Card Series roster?
If Sal Frelick is indeed good to go he is a presumed starter no matter the pitching match up. Manager Pat Murphy had him in the lineup last Friday against Mets southpaw Sean Manaea with the thought of getting him more reps against lefties. Should Frelick be left off the roster Blake Perkins would likely replace him in the starting lineup and infielder Tyler Black would be one potential option to replace him on the roster.
Whether Frelick is on the roster or not the Brewers have covered up the area in foul territory that caused his injury.
