Green Bay Packers Fall To Vikings Following Two Missed Field Goals
Heading into the Green Bay Packers matchup with the Vikings, Brayden Narveson missed two kicks in his first three games in the NFL. After a 2-1 start, his misses did not dictate the outcome of any games by a major margin.
However, the Green Bay Packers struggled to find rhythm early due to Narveson’s field goal misses. Brayden Narveson missed both of his field goal attempts in Sunday’s 31-29 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. His 37-yard kick clanged off the right upright, and he later missed a 49-yard attempt wide to the right, contributing to Green Bay’s 28-0 halftime deficit.
The Packers rallied late to stay in the game, however, they lost with a heartbreaking 31-29 fashion.
Green Bay Packers Appear To Continue With Narveson
Despite Narveson’s lackluster start to the season, it seems the Green Bay Packers will continue to commit to him as the starting kicker.
“I got a lot of confidence in Brayden. I do. I think that — you know, it’s tough — we all want the results. I think he’s a young guy and a lot of times with young kickers that you go through this. Certainly, I think that he’s, I know that he’s disappointed. I’ve still got a lot of belief in him. I’ve seen it in practice. I told you guys from Day 1, the day he got here, and just have seen his ability. So, it’s just part of it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t his day, but I got a lot of confidence and wouldn’t blink if we have to put him in another situation.”- Matt Lafleur said.
As the Green Bay Packers look to build a Super Bowl capable roster, Brayden Narveson may be the player who makes or breaks their 2024 campaign.
Kicking Woes Will Continue To Lose The Green Bay Packers Big Games
The Green Bay Packers have had an extreme problem trying to replace Packer Hall Of Fame kicker Mason Crosby . If they fail to acquire a consistent kicking threat, it is more likely that Narverson will lose games for the Green Bay Packers. The NFL playoffs have some of the slimmest margin for error in all of sports, Narveson’s inconsistencies are something the Green Bay Packers need to prepare for.
