The Green Bay Packers had themselves a ver promising 2023 season. In Jordan Love’s first year as a starter the team managed to be one of the final eight remaining teams alive after advancing to the divisional round of the playoffs.
The team will certainly look to build on that success going into next season and solidify themselves as a true Super Bowl contender. Many believe that changes should be made on the defensive side of the ball to accomplish that. Defensive Coordinator Joe Barry has received scrutiny all season long, even with the Packers getting a huge wild card win over the Dallas Cowboys. His future in Green Bay is certainly up in the air, however, today LaFleur spoke about the teams’ future with Barry.
Green Bay Packers HC Matt LaFleur Uncertain About Joe Barry’s Future With The Team
According to multiple sources:
LaFleur makes it clear he’s not ready to give a definitive answer on Joe Barry, or any big-picture matters.

LaFleur said he has not thought about any coaching changes. Said he wanted to talk to the assistant coaches first before addressing anything.

For now, Barry will remain the defensive coordinator in Green Bay. It won’t be surprising at all, however, if the Packers decide to go in a different direction this off-season.
What Did Barry’s. Defense Look Like By Season’s End?
By Week 17, the Packers’ defense allowed 344 yards per game and 37 touchdowns, ranking 21st in the league. Even though there is room for improvement, the Packers’ solid offensive performance was enough to propell them into the second round of the playoffs.
The majority of fans wanted Barry fired by the end of the regular season. In spite of this, Matt LaFleur consistently defended Barry’s position, insisting he would not fire him. Despite the team’s defensive struggles, they qualified for the playoffs. Barry’s defense improved significantly in the last month.
