Former Green Bay Packers kicker Mason Crosby has not had an easy year in 2023. After the Packers decided that it was time to part ways with their all-time leading scorer, he had a hard time finding a new team. Even though he was eventually signed by the Los Angeles Rams earlier this month, he did not appear in a game for them before they released him.
A few days ago, Crosby was picked up by the New York Giants. Unlike his short stint in Los Angeles, he was shoved into playing duty right away on Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles. Crosby made his only field goal attempt, a 52-yarder, and both extra point attempts.

While the 2023 NFL season may nearly be at an end, it is satisfying for Crosby (and his family) to finally be on the field again. While he may be 39 years old, he has proven that he still has the leg strength to be a NFL kicker.
Leaving Green Bay was not easy, as his wife Molly detailed in a series of posts earlier this year. However, the city, the state of Wisconsin, and Packers fans have made a lasting impression on the Crosby family.

“I want to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you to God for the gift of His Son. Thank you to the #packers for making us a part of your organization for so long. Thank you to #packernation for your love and support for 16 going on 17 seasons and overwhelming us today with well wishes and genuine joy as we embrace the opportunity presented.
“We love football. We love family. We love when football makes our family exponentially bigger. We loved being on your team and are elated to be cheered on by you even as we don new colors. God bless you and your family and may we all cheer on our fellow man with the same energy that we cheer on our favorite sports teams.
“I really can’t say thank you enough. Wisconsin, you are stuck with us forever! New York, can’t wait to get to know you! Merry Christmas!”
Many Packers fans expressed their appreciation and love for Crosby as they watched him kick on Monday night. Despite the organization’s decision to move on this past offseason, he remains a fan-favorite.
That love is apparently felt by his family, which should make Packers fans feel quite proud.

Congratulations to Mason. If I had a vote in the change, Crosby would have still be wearing green and gold. The powers to be are going for young blood too quickly. But, that is how we have wonderboy LaFluer.
