Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur spoke to the media on Thursday, a day before his team take on the Philadelphia Eagles in a historic game in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and expressed the great experience he and his team is having so far down in the South American country.
One thing the LaFleur and the Packers seemingly won’t cherish, however, is the long trip — particularly the 10-hour flight to get to Sao Paulo.
Via Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette:
“Our experience down here has been nothing but positive,” LaFleur said. “I think our players are, the only negative was the long flight. That’s kind of out of the norm for us. But I would say, since we’ve only been here a short time, the food, the people, everybody has been A-plus. So it’s been a positive experience for us, and we’re looking forward to it tomorrow.
Hopefully all our Brazilian fans will show up tomorrow and be cheering on the green and gold. Hopefully it’s a home-field advantage for us. It’s been a great experience for us so far.”
Will the Green Bay Packers come back with a win?
LaFleur is all business down in Brazil. It may be a different environment, an unfamiliar atmosphere, but the mission still stays the same for him and the Packers, who are looking to kick off their 2024 NFL campaign on the right foot.
The Eagles are viewed as a playoff contender just like the Packers, so the expectation for this first-ever NFL game in Brazil in terms of quality is high. Last season, the Packers and the Eagles combined for 20 wins, with both teams making the playoffs.
