The Green Bay Packers have finally landed in Brazil and will practice on Thursday overseas. They are getting prepared for the Week 1 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams will have Super Bowl expectations entering the 2024 season.
This game will be interesting because it will not be played in either Green Bay or Philadelphia. This has a chance to be a high-scoring affair.
Pete Prisco Of CBS Sports Picks the Green Bay Packers To Upset the Philadelphia Eagles
Pete Prisco of CBS Sports already gave his Week 1 picks for the 2024 NFL season. The Eagles are favored by -2.5 points against the Packers in Brazil. That is an interesting number given by Vegas.
In his predictions, he thinks that the Green Bay Packers will upset the Philadelphia Eagles by a final score of 33-28. Prisco said:
“This first-ever NFL game in Brazil features two of the better teams in the NFL. The Packers found out Jordan Love could be their guy last season, and I think that will continue here. The Eagles have shored up their secondary, but they were terrible against the pass last year. Packers take it as Love has a big night and the attacking new-look defense of the Packers plays well enough.”
During the last six games of the regular season and the playoffs, the Eagles secondary looked horrendous. This is a good take by Pete Prisco that Jordan Love will light up Philadelphia’s secondary on Friday night.
Took Them To Win the Super Bowl
Pete Prisco of CBS Sports also took Green Bay to win the Super Bowl this season and also had them ranked second in his power rankings. Prisco is going to be very high on the Green Bay Packers and quarterback Jordan Love all season long.
One of the things that the Packers will need to do in this game is slow down Jalen Hurts. Green Bay’s defense needs to show signs of improvement in Week 1 and the new defense could be a reason why they win it all.
