The Green Bay Packers finally had star quarterback Jordan Love back in action on Sunday.
That alone was good news for the team, who managed to survive his absence, with back-to-back wins in Weeks 2 and 3 against the Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans, respectively, while also having Malik Willis as Love’s placeholder in those contests.
However, the Packers remain winless with Love as a starter so far in the 2024 NFL regular season, as they suffered a 31-29 loss at home to the Minnesota Vikings.
Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love’s sounds off about his knee after the loss to the Minnesota Vikings
Love’s accuracy was all over the place against the Vikings, as he needed 54 pass attempts to record 389 passing yards. After the game, Love, who also threw for four touchdowns and three interceptions versus the Vikings, dropped a hint about the status of his knee that he injured in Week 1’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Sao Paulo.
Via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
“I hope it’ll continue to heal and get better, but at this moment, yeah, it’s definitely something that’s there and it’s one of those things,” Love said. “It’s football. We play a physical sport and there’s injuries and you gotta fight through some stuff.”
With several more days of rest before they return to the field to face the Los Angeles Rams on the road this coming Sunday, the Packers hope that Love’s knee will feel better in Week 5.
For what it’s worth, Green Bay cab take heart from the fact that Love was able to finish the Minnesota game without getting seriously hurt again.
