The Green Bay Packers have a lot to be excited about regarding the future of this team. 2023 was a season where fans and analysts alike started to believe that Jordan Love could be “the guy” for the future of this organization. Additionally, the Packers proved that the young offensive weapons surrounding Love have a lot to offer in this league.
Now, one Packers quarterback is speaking out about the future of this team and what he sees moving forward.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Sean Clifford Talks About The Future Of This Team
According to Jeff Kerr of the CBS Sports:
What’s the anticipation process for someone just waiting for his name to be called?
Clifford: “Oh, it’s the edge of your seat. It’s literally a draw dropping moment, one that I know myself, my family will always remember. Just an awesome moment when my name was called. One of the best I’ve ever had.”
How was your rookie year in Green Bay?
Clifford: “It was fun. A lot of fun. I learned a lot. We weren’t a great team at the beginning of the year, I think everyone would say that. But we knew what we had and we overcame a lot of adversity.
“We lost four straight at one point, but we came back and started winning some big games. By the end of the year, we sneaked our way into the playoffs and made a run. We really had a chance to beat the 49ers. I know you all saw the outcome, but they’re a great team. At the end of the day, it was a toss up at the end of the game.
“We’ll be back next year with a vengeance. We’re all ready to attack 2024.”
Everyone Is Excited For What The 2024 Packers Season Will Look Like
In his final seven games (including playoffs), Jordan Love threw 23 touchdowns to three interceptions, making the Packers one of the most improved teams in the NFC. In addition to making the playoffs (first No. 7 seed to beat a No. 2 seed), Green Bay was the youngest team to win a playoff game (average age of 25 years, 214 days).
The Green Bay Packers had 302 catches for 3,642 yards and 31 touchdowns from first- or second-year players, the most in NFL history. Starting with Jayden Reed, Love has plenty of young pass catchers to grow with.
Additionally, the Packers have Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks, Romeo Doubs, Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft. Despite a banged-up offensive line for most of the year, this offense improved its points per possession from 15th to ninth.
New defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley will need to revamp Green Bay’s defense, but five top 100 picks in the draft should help. If Love plays more consistently like he did over those final seven games, the Packers have a bright future.
