The Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love expect to get a deal done in the very near future.  The 25-year-old quarterback did more than enough to prove that he has what it takes to lead this franchise.

Love became eligible for a massive contract extension on May 3rd. Given that he finished 2023 as one of the top-10 quarterbacks in the league, his contract structure will be interesting to say the least.

His PFF passing grade, passing yards, touchdowns, and big throws of Love placed him in the top ten among passers last season. Not to mention, Love led the youngest NFL team to the playoffs since the 1970s.

Over the course of the regular season and playoffs last year, he had 18 turnover-worthy plays. In this timeframe, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Patrick Mahomes all had more TWPs than him. During the same period, Love made 37 big-time throws, which tied for third most.

While Packers fans sit on pins and needles waiting for his extension to get done, Love signed a different contract today.

    According to the Insurance Journal:

American Family Insurance announced today Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers quarterback, has signed on as the company’s newest brand ambassador. Jordan becomes the latest addition to this group of fearless dreamers, who will continue the company’s strategy of promoting and championing the dreams of its customers, communities and employees.

Each brand ambassador reinforces the brand’s mission to inspire people to find, follow and achieve their dreams. Other ambassadors include Derek Jeter, Christian Yelich, the Scott Brothers and Kathy Ireland, among others.

Love will make his debut, on behalf of the brand, this weekend on Sunday, June 9th where he will engage with fans at the PGA TOUR Champions American Family Insurance Championship golf tournament.

The 25-year-old drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2020 as a first round NFL pick. In 2023 he started his first season for Green Bay, leading the Packers to a 9-8 regular season record and a spot in the NFL playoffs.

“I am honored and flattered to have been invited to serve as one of American Family Insurance’s brand ambassadors,” said Love. “American Family is a cornerstone of the Wisconsin community just as it is a cornerstone in helping people realize their dreams.”

Based in Madison, Wisconsin, American Family Insurance has been serving customers since 1927.
