The Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love expect to get a deal done in the very near future. The 25-year-old quarterback did more than enough to prove that he has what it takes to lead this franchise.
Love became eligible for a massive contract extension on May 3rd. Given that he finished 2023 as one of the top-10 quarterbacks in the league, his contract structure will be interesting to say the least.
His PFF passing grade, passing yards, touchdowns, and big throws of Love placed him in the top ten among passers last season. Not to mention, Love led the youngest NFL team to the playoffs since the 1970s.
Over the course of the regular season and playoffs last year, he had 18 turnover-worthy plays. In this timeframe, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Patrick Mahomes all had more TWPs than him. During the same period, Love made 37 big-time throws, which tied for third most.
While Packers fans sit on pins and needles waiting for his extension to get done, Love signed a different contract today.
