Green Bay Packers: Joe Barry Releases Statement About Frustrated De’Vondre Campbell

The Green Bay Packers have been going through a adversity as of late.  After winning three straight games to get back into playoff contention, they have now lost two straight games and are on the outside looking in heading into Week 16.  While the Packers winning out gives them an extremely good chance of making the playoffs, that seems like a tall task at the moment.

Inside linebacker De’Vondre Campbell had some pretty harsh comments about what he had been going through with the team.  Many fans took aim at Joe Barry thinking that he was to blame for Campbell’s frustrations.  Today, Barry released a statement about the frustrated linebacker.

According To Ryan Wood of USA Today:

Joe Barry on De’Vondre Campbell: “‘Dre is an absolute warrior, and I mean that in ever aspect of his game. As a leader. As a guy in our locker room. As a guy in our meeting room. In our linebacker room. I have utmost respect for that guy, and he has my 1,000% complete support.”
Publicly, at least, Barry has been very supportive of his players.  A cryptic comment made by inside linebacker De’Vondre Campbell on X (formerly Twitter) led many to insinuate he was unhappy with his defensive coordinator led to a flurry of frustration. He has declined to comment since that post, but Matt LaFleur chalked up his frustrations with being injured and has given him this week off to recover.

This will certainly be an interesting week for the Packers, specifically their defense.  They are taking on the 2-12 Carolina Panthers.  It will be a great chance to get back on track.  However, if the Packers stumble against the Panthers, it could only make matters worse.
