Aaron Rodgers’ recent divorce from the Green Bay Packers may not have come in the best of terms, and this is exactly why more than a few Cheeseheads out there weren’t really wishing their former cornerstone quarterback the best of luck in this new chapter of his career.
However, after seeing Rodgers go down in the first quarter of his debut for the New York Jets, even Packers fans have to feel bad for the four-time league MVP — especially after hearing the news that A-Rod could be done for the season.
Green Bay Packers Icon Aaron Rodgers Ruptures Achilles
Jets head coach Robert Saleh spoke to reporters after the game, and he did not have any good news on the Aaron Rodgers front. In fact, the New York shot-caller provided an update that can be considered a worst-case scenario for A-Rod and his new team.
According to Saleh, initial tests have revealed that Rodgers has suffered a ruptured Achilles. While the Jets have yet to confirm a timetable for his return to action, the general belief is that this is a season-ending injury for the 39-year-old.
If this stands, then Rodgers will see his debut season with the Jets end catastrophically after just four snaps.
Green Bay Packers Fans React to Devastating Aaron Rodgers News
Naturally, this significant turn of events had NFL Twitter buzzing hard. Even Packers fans had to chime in on the injury news as they sent their heartfelt messages toward the same man who led the charge for Green Bay for nearly two decades:
I hope this isn’t the last we’ve seen from Rodgers. One of the greatest to ever do it. Prayers up for Rodgers and hoping for a healthy recovery

I don't care what you think of Rodgers, that is absolutely heartbreaking. Left the Packers with class, handed the keys over to Love, seemed so excited for his next chapter and then it ends in 4 plays. I'm sick

If you’re a Packers ‘fan’ happy about Rodgers being injured…. Unfollow me.
I would never wish for an injury to a player, especially one who has done so much for my team.

Y’all worried about the draft pick, can we PLEASE show some respect for the greatest player in our franchise history?
Rodgers gave the packers more great memories than 90% of fan bases will ever get. Show some decency. pic.twitter.com/kPZFqKhqQZ

For context, one of the stipulations of Rodgers’ trade to the Jets is a conditional draft pick for next year’s draft. If the Super Bowl-winning QB is able to play at least 65% of New York’s snaps this season, then the Jets will send their 2024 first-round pick to the Packers. If he goes below 65%, which is looking like the case right now, then Green Bay will get a second-round pick for 2024.
Either way, this should probably be the least of Green Bay fans’ concerns right now.
