Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed was nominated as one of the rookies of the week a week ago. Reed had another stellar performance for Green Bay in a 23-20 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Jayden Reed scored a 32-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter for the Packers. It was his first career rushing touchdown. He was Green Bay’s leading rusher with 46 yards on three carries and a score. One of the reasons why Reed was the leading rusher was because Aaron Jones left the game with an injury, and he did not return to the game.

Reed caught four passes for 46 yards receiving also. He averaged 11.5 yards per reception in the game against Los Angeles. Reed is proving week-by-week why he is the best rookie on the team this season.
He is a very versatile wide receiver. On the year, he has caught 32 passes for 463 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Reed has also been targeted 51 times this season. He is averaging 14.5 yards per reception.
Reed is leading the team in receiving yards. When Love targets him this season, his passer rating is 116.7, which is the highest on the team. It is not a mistake that Jordan Love has great chemistry with Jayden Reed.
Jayden Reed Being the Best Wide Receiver on the Green Bay Packers This Season Has Been An Interesting Surprise
Reed this season has popped right away as a rookie. This isn’t the first time ever that the Packers have had a second-round wide receiver play well for the franchise. Could he be a Davante Adams or Jordy Nelson moving forward? Time will tell, but Jayden Reed has been the best rookie in Green Bay by a mile this season.
Brian Sampson of dairylandexpress.com wrote about Reed playing well against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 11:
“Jayden Reed might be the playmaker the Packers have been looking for. Green Bay designed several plays for him against the Chargers, and he capitalized on the opportunity. He finished with three carries for 46 yards and a touchdown while also adding four receptions for 46 yards. His speed and burst were evident as he made play after play.”
With seven games remaining in Green Bay’s season, it will be interesting to see what Reed’s trajectory will be for the rest of the regular season. If the Packers are going to continue to win football games, he will be one of the reasons why they do.
