The Green Bay Packers will use the 2024 off-season to take their team from playoff contender to Super Bowl contender. Just one full year removed from trading away Aaron Rodgers, that is a pretty impressive situation to be in. The Packers were just three points shy of reaching the NFC Championship game, and confidence is sky high heading into next season (as it should be).
There will be some fine tuning on offense, but some pretty massive changes on defense. One of those changes could be a buy low scenario for the Packers.
The Green Bay Packers May Land Ultimate “Buy Low” Playmaker

Sayre Bedinger of Dairy Land Express highlighted a few free agents that the Packers should sign before the NFL Draft. Safety Jamal Adams was one of them:
Someone is going to have to sign Jamal Adams eventually, right? When it comes to big names available, there are few bigger than Adams at this point. Although Adams was the centerpiece of a rather unpopular trade, he’s historically been a really good, impactful player when healthy.
He had seven tackles for loss in just nine games played last year after coming off of a season-ending injury in 2022. There are obviously availability concerns here, but Adams attacks the line of scrimmage as well or better than almost any defensive back in the league.
There are definitely worse options for new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, and Adams is someone who could also help this team floating in the box at the linebacker position or playing a dime defensive back role. He’s an elite pass rusher for the position he plays.
Tyler Brooke of Heavy on Packers took it a step further. He mentioned how signing Adams could be an ultimate “buy low” scenario:
Jamal Adams Is the Ultimate Buy-Low Free Agent
Adams is coming off of the worst year of his career in the NFL. However, that presents an opportunity for the Packers to bring him in on a cheaper veteran deal to prove he can still play at a high level.
Prior to his NFL career, Adams was a star for the LSU Tigers. He left Baton Rouge with two All-SEC selections and second-team All-American honors in 2016. Over 36 college games, Adams racked up 209 total tackles, 18 tackles for loss, five interceptions, and two forced fumbles.
Will The Packers Sign Another Safety?

The Packers double dipped at outside linebacker a few years back when they signed both Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith. That exact same concept could very well happen during the 2024 off-season at Safety.
New defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley talked in length about how important the Safety position is in the defenses he likes to run. Getting Xavier McKinney was a home run signing, but they certainly won’t stop there.
Letting Jonathan Owens and Darnell Savage walk in free agency paved the way for Green Bay to bring in multiple Safeties this off-season. Jamal Adams could be among them.
