The Green Bay Packers are navigating the offseason well so far. Contracts have been restructured for Preston Smith, Jaire Alexander, and Aaron Jones which helps clear cap space. The Aaron Rodgers decision looms but either way, the Packers have a good quarterback option which is more than other teams can say. There are still some questions for the Packers this offseason but GM Brian Gutekunst said today that he expects one All-Pro player to be back.
Good news on David Bakhtiari. As Gutekunst said to wrap up the season, Bakhtiari should be back this year. https://t.co/cbwzyscJYq

Green Bay Packers GM Expects All-Pro Tackle David Bakhtiari Back
Bakhtiari’s contract has been one that many wondered what the Packers would do. While he had an elite season last year, he is getting older and his cap hit is high. The question was whether the Packers would simply cut him or try and restructure. It seems they are going to try and keep him by restructuring. Along with NT Kenny Clark, Gutekunst said that he is working to get a deal done soon.

Keeping Key Players
The Packers are making sure that they can retain their key players especially as they try to keep their championship window open. Even if the team goes to Jordan Love, Green Bay is looking to compete in a wide-open NFC conference. The left tackle position is one of the most important positions in football and the Packers have one of the best in the league.
Outside of the Rodgers decision, Gutekunst has other decisions to make. Rashan Gary is due for an extension and many believe the team is gearing up for it. Regardless, having Bakhtiari back for another season should excite Packers fans.
