Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander did not practice once again on Friday with an ankle injury. He missed Thursday’s practice with the same injury and defensive coordinator Joe Barry was hoping he was healthy enough to practice on Friday.
With him being sidelined for Friday’s practice, there will need to be a plan for this weekend with Alexander in the lineup and another plan with him out of the lineup. This isn’t a good thing that this is happening two days before the playoff matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
There have been several times this season that Alexander has been out of practice due to injury, which has caused him to miss 10 games this season. Jaire Alexander has yet to play in three consecutive games this season. It appears as if he could very well be on the wrong side of things rather than the right side of things.
When he has played in the seven games this season for the Green Bay Packers, he has 27 total tackles, one forced fumble, zero interceptions, and five pass deflections. When healthy, Green Bay’s secondary feels more solidified.
With Jaire Alexander Maybe Missing For the Green Bay Packers It Would Have Been Hard to Slow Down Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb Anyways
Alexander would have no doubt been guarding CeeDee Lamb on Dallas this weekend. What is the plan to cover Lamb if he is out? They will have to double-team him but Carrington Valentine or Kelsean Nixon really neutralize him? It feels like Green Bay knows that Lamb is going to get the ball for the Dallas Cowboys, but it appears as if the Green Bay Packers may not be able to stop it anyway.
They are also not strong at safety to help over the top. Losing Alexander for this kind of game for the Packers to have a puncher’s chance really hurts. Green Bay will have to make a decision about Jaire Alexander this offseason if he is ruled out for Sunday’s contest against Dallas.
