The Green Bay Packers are going to be a little short-handed when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. Of course, they will not have Aaron Jones, who remains out with a sprained MCL that he suffered in Green Bay’s victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. He is still considered week-to-week.
Also missing for Green Bay will be tight end Luke Musgrave and Eric Stokes, who remain on injured reserve. Stokes has returned to practice in a limited fashion, but still is not well enough to return. Musgrave is still recovering from a lacerated kidney he suffered in the win over the Chargers.
It is not all bad news for the Packers, though. They are seeing a couple very important contributors return this week. The question is whether or not they will be enough to help Green Bay upset the Kansas City.
Dontayvion Wicks and Darnell Savage Return for the Green Bay Packers
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Dontayvion Wicks and Darnell Savage are returning from their injuries to play against the Chiefs. Wicks missed the the previous game on Thanksgiving with a concussion he suffered in the win against the Chargers.
Savage, meanwhile, is returning from a calf injury that landed him on injured reserve. De’Vondre Campbell will also be playing.
Jaire Alexander Will Not Play for the Green Bay Packers
Also according to Schneidman, the Packers will be without their top cornerback, Jaire Alexander. He had practiced in a limited fashion throughout the week, but is not feeling good enough to go. Hopefully he will be able to return next week.
In addition to Alexander and Jones, the other inactive players on the Packers’ active roster are Josiah Deguara, Caleb Jones, Samori Toure, and Brenton Cox.
