The Green Bay Packers have lost players over the years in their youth movement. After an overachieving season ending in a disappointing loss to the San Fransisco 49ers, the Packers have continued this de-aging process with the release of multiple players. After releasing multiple players these players have decided to spite the Green Bay Packers in their choice of teams. For example, Aaron Jones signed with division rival Minnesota Vikings shortly after his release, and Jonathan Owens signed with the Chicago Bears in free agency. It appears this trend is not stopping any time soon.
Former Green Bay Packers LB De’Vondre Campbell Signs With San Fransisco 49ers
De’Vondre Campbell rebuilt his career and reputation with the Green Bay Packers. Signing with the Packers in 2021 and earning All-Pro honors in the same season, two years later Campbell decides to join a familiar foe.

In his 3 year tenure with the Packers Campbell tallied 317 tackles and four interceptions. In his first season, he earned first-team All-Pro Honors. Coming off an injury-riddled and underperforming season in 2023 the Green Bay Packers decided to cut him for cap purposes. Campbell soon received an offer from a familiar foe.
Campbell has played against the San Francisco 49ers three times in a Green Bay Packers uniform, including twice in the postseason. Both of which the Green Bay Packers lost. In the 2022 postseason, Campbell totaled 7 tackles against the Niners in a losing effort, 2024 another 8 tackles once again in a loss in the divisional round.
This appears to be a case of “if you can’t beat them, join them” and the Green Bay Packers (and the fans) would love to see this not pan out well for both Campbell and the 49ers.
