The Green Bay Packers are undoubtedly entering the 2024 season with confidence. The latter half of the 2023 season proved to the league that this team is no slouch with Jordan Love under center. After an up and down start to the season, the Packers had an extremely strong second half of the season and wound up being one of the final four NFC teams left standing. On top of that, they were just three points away from the conference championship.
That would mean the Packers should be getting high praise entering the 2024 season, right?
Freddie Boston of FanSided highlighted how the Packers are once again being disrespected in off-season rankings:
Love led them (Packers) to a playoff berth and an upset over the Dallas Cowboys in the opening round before falling just short to the No. 1 seed San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round.
So, what should we expect from the Packers in 2024? Vegas has released odds to win each division next season and they still think the Detroit Lions are the cream of the crop in the NFC North. Shouldn’t the Packers be getting some more love as division contenders?

The Detroit Lions had a memorable 2023-24 season. For the first time in 30 years the Lions hosted a playoff game. A brutal loss in the NFC Championship capped an otherwise outstanding season. However, the Packers were one of the hottest teams in the NFL down the stretch.
The Packers still have a great chance of winning the NFC North despite the Lions being favored. As far as average scoring margin goes, the Packers were right behind the Lions this past season. Green Bay also beat Detroit handily on Thanksgiving.
It may appear that the Lions have the better team at this point, but the Packers have one of the youngest rosters in the league, and as we saw in 2023, they can drastically improve as the season progresses.
