The Green Bay Packers have made a name for themselves in the trade market over the last two off-seasons. Of course, this off-season has been consumed by the franchise-altering trade that sent Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets.
Last off-season every Packers fans remembers when the surprising news broke that the Packers decided to trade Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders. With a number of question-marks surrounding the Raiders organization as a whole, Adams’ name has come up as a trade candidate as the deadline approaches. Now and NFC North Rival is being linked as a landing spot for the star wide receiver.
Detroit Lions Linked To Former Green Bay Packers Star Wide Receiver Davante Adams Via Trade
According to Ryan Fowler of Bleacher Report:
The Detroit Lions have rapidly become a team with talent in abundance, and Adams could prove to be a dynamic piece to what is already a high-octane offense.
Adams and Amon-Ra St. Brown could be a match made in heaven, with Adams’ ability to dominate at all depths and St. Brown’s prowess in the short and intermediate levels.
2022 first-round pick Jameson Williams remains out for the next three games after violating the league’s gambling policy, but he’d be a great complement to the duo with his blazing speed.
The San Francisco 49ers (3-0), Philadelphia Eagles (3-0) and Dallas Cowboys (2-1) are the cream of the crop in the NFC, but Adams’ addition could make the Lions (2-1) a title contender as well.
To say the Raiders deciding to trade Jones would be shocking, would be an understatement. We are just one off-season removed from the Raiders giving up premium draft capital to go get him. Even though the Raiders are sitting at 1-2, they still haven’t given up hope on the season. There have been bright spots to build off of, but the schedule doesn’t get any easier for them.
The Raiders still have to play the Chiefs twice, the Chargers twice, and the Dolphins this season. The only way the Raiders trade away Adams is if the front office decides between now and the trade deadline that a full rebuild is necessary. Even still, the asking price for Adams would be extremely high and we’re not sure if the Lions (or anyone else) would be willing to commit those resources to a 30-year-old wide receiver.
