The Green Bay Packers have moved on from a number of All-Pros over the last few years. Obviously, Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers were the two most notable names that the Packers have moved on from in recent memory. Adams has been able to prove that he is still an all-pro caliber player without having one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
Due to injury, Rodgers has yet to prove that he is still the same MVP quarterback Packers fans have grown used to seeing. However, there is one other All-Pro the Packers moved on from who has now decided to hang up his cleats.
Former Green Bay Packers All-Pro Shocking Retires Following The 2023 Season
Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team reported:
Chargers All-Pro center Corey Linsley said he’s likely to to retire from the NFL after 10 seasons due to the heart issues that caused him to miss the last 14 games of the season.
One of the best players at his position.
Following his placement on the non-football illness list, Linsley missed 14 games this season. Prior to being placed on the list, Linsley was diagnosed with a non-emergent heart issue.
The Chargers signed Linsley to a five-year contract ahead of the 2021 season. That year, he made the Pro Bowl and was named a second-team All-Pro.
His final season with the Packers earned him a first-team All-Pro selection, and he started all 144 regular season and playoff games during his 10 years in the league.
Linsley was taken in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He signed a three-year, $25.5M extension with the Packers in 2017. He served as the Packers’ starting center for the three seasons in which they appeared in the NFC championship (2014, 2019, 2020).
From 2018-20, Linsley was rated a top-10 center by Pro Football Focus. In 2021, Linsley hit the market rather than sign a second Packers extension as centers are almost never franchise-tagged. It was surely a remarkable career for Linsley that didn’t end how he wanted it to.
