When the Green Bay Packers first traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, there was a great deal of excitement among both fanbases. Packers fans were excited for the prospect of getting another first round pick (all Rodgers had to do was play 65% of the Jets’ offensive snaps) and to see what the team has in 2020 NFL Draft pick Jordan Love.
Jets fans, of course, were excited to have one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history on their team. Unfortunately, for both teams and fanbases, Rodgers’ first season in New York last just four snaps.
The future Hall of Famer tore his Achilles and was ruled out for the season shortly after their first game began. Though he was ruled out for the season, Rodgers said it was his goal to come back for the end of the season.
Of course, this would be unprecedented, especially given his age. However, Rodgers’ appearance on the Jets sideline, without crutches, for New York’s Week Six game against the Philadelphia Eagles, had fans talking on social media.
Green Bay Packers and New York Jets Fans React to Aaron Rodgers Walking without Crutches

Prior to the Jets’ win over the Eagles, Rodgers was seen on the field throwing a football around. While it is no surprise that he can still throw a ball, being able to do so upright, without assistance, a month after tearing his Achilles had fans of both teams excited on social media:
As a guy who’s recovered from two Achilles injuries. The progress Aaron Rodgers is showing from his Achilles surgery is UNBELIEVABLE. He might ACTUALLY comeback this season….pic.twitter.com/uruBYzoZqV

Aaron Rodgers ISN’T HUMAN. He is already walking without crutches AND throwing after tearing his Achilles about 5 weeks ago. 🤯pic.twitter.com/d3QxKu5Stu

Even if Rodgers somehow comes back before the end of the season, it still will not be enough for Green Bay to get the Jets’s 2024 first round pick. They will still get the second round pick, though, just like they did this past year.
