The Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers will forever be linked to one another. No matter how many years Rodgers spends with the New York Jets, he will always be remembered as a Packer. That being said, one former teammate who spent the entire 2023 season with Rodgers now has been linked to the Packers in a unique way.
The Green Bay Packers Could Easily Sign Former Aaron Rodgers’ Teammate Dalvin Cook For Playoff Push
Evan Massey highlighted how the Packers could easily add the veteran running back:
Amid the rumblings that the Packers should pursue Cook among the fans, cap expert Ken Ingalls took to Twitter to share what claiming Cook would cost Green Bay. The cost would not be bad at all.
If the Packers think they could use running back depth, this would be a great move to make. Aaron Jones has had injury issues this season and AJ Dillon has gotten banged up the last couple of weeks. Dalvin Cook would simply give Green Bay more depth to work with.
There is no question that Week 18 against the Bears is going to be a dogfight. It always is between these two bitter rivals. Having running back depth would likely be a wise move.
Should the Packers make it into the playoffs, running back depth could come in even more clutch. If Jones or Dillon went down, Green Bay would be in trouble. Adding Cook to the roster would eliminate those concerns.
Packers Fans Were Excited To See How Inexpensive And Beneficial It Would Be To Add Cook
Seeing all the benefits of adding Cook, not only for this season, but possibly what it could mean for next season, they reacted accordingly on social media:
He would be great insurance more to replace Jones if injured !

So they can claim him now and just use him in the playoffs, if the make it. 60k caphit. Another RB for the playoffs. And a comp pick best case.
Nice.

Sounds like a good insurance pickup to me. We’ve got a couple of banged up RBs. I’m with you though, doubt it happens.

I’d do it if I were Gute. Not even to play him, but just for the chance of the comp pick, but not sure we have the roster spot to spare for something like this.
They’re already out here putting Samouri on IR (not even sure he’s injured) to try and squeeze players on.
