The Green Bay Packers are headed into their 2023 season with a lot of “firsts” on their roster. Most notably, it will mark the first time in 31 years that someone not named Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers will be under center come week one. Even with the massive shift on the roster, when the 2023 NFL schedules were released, the Packers still have five primetime games. That was tied for the second most in the NFL. Today, however, an announcement was made that will have major implications for the pre-season schedule.
The Cincinnati Bengals Will Host The Green Bay Packers For Joint Practices
Cincinnati Bengals coach Zac Taylor shared the news in a press conference on Tuesday. Taylor said the two teams will have a joint practice on Wednesday, rest on Thursday and then play a preseason game together on Friday. The Packers are scheduled to open preseason play against the Bengals at Paycor Stadium on Aug. 11.
The Green Bay Packers will also host the New England Patriots for a joint practice this pre-season. It will be the third time the Green Bay Packers have hosted another team during camp in the Matt LaFleur. The only exception was the COVID-19 season in 202. The New England Patriots are also the third AFC team to visit Green Bay during training camp after the Houston Texans and New York Jets made the trip.
