A lot of fans have been looking forward to the Milwaukee Bucks facing off against the San Antonio Spurs for the first time this season. That game is now less than 24 hours away as Milwaukee hosts the Spurs at the Fiserv Forum on Tuesday night.
The reason behind all the hype is rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama battling former back-to-back MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo for the first time ever.
Unfortunately, this won’t be happening on Tuesday.
Spurs Rule Victor Wembanayama Out Vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Wemby and Giannis battle it out on the court. This is after the Spurs officially ruled out the 7-foot-4 phenom for Tuesday’s contest due to an ankle problem:
Spurs are listing Victor Wembanyama as OUT for tomorrow's game against Milwaukee with right ankle soreness.

Wemby looked fine on Sunday as the Spurs suffered a disheartening 36-point loss at the hands of the New Orleans Pelicans, which seems to indicate that this ankle injury is not serious. San Antonio had a lot of momentum entering that game following their shock win over LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday to snap the Spurs’ 18-game losing streak.
Well, they got back to losing ways in a major way against the Pelicans. Not even Wembanyama’s 17-point, 13-rebound double-double was enough to prevent a total blowout.
In 24 games played this season, the 19-year-old is averaging 19.0 points on 43.6 percent shooting, 11.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and 3.0 blocks, while also knocking down 1.4 triples per contest.
The good news for NBA fans is that the Bucks and the Spurs face off again on January 4 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio. Hopefully, both Wembanyama and Antetokounmpo will be healthy for what should be a very intriguing matchup.
