The Green Bay Packers have started to give their fans a sliver of hope when it comes to making the playoffs. Sitting at 6-8, the Packers find themselves just a few teams back from that seventh seed. This weekend the Packers have a tall task in beating the Dolphins in Miami. As always, the first order of business is Green Bay winning the rest of their games. However, they will need some help. Here are the four games that will impact Green Bay’s odds.
Game Number One: Panthers Vs. Lions
While the Packers play the Lions in week 18, a loss or two between now and then for the Lions would do the Packers well. This week the Lions travel to Carolina to play the Panthers. Carolina is currently 5-9, but have won two of their last three games. Meanwhile the Lions sit at 7-7 and appear to be one of the hottest teams in the NFL. An upset in this game would be big for Green Bay.
Game Number Two: Chiefs Vs. Seahawks
Seattle is yet another team that Green Bay will need to leapfrog prior to the end of the season. Seattle sits at 7-7, but has lost four of their last five games. They have a tall task traveling to Kansas City in December to face Patrick Mahomes. Green Bay will be hoping for a classic performance from the Chiefs having Seattle fall to 7-8.
Game Number Three: Vikings Vs. Giants
Yes, we have to live through another week of having to “root” for the Vikings. The Giants (8-5-1) are a team that Green Bay MAY need to leapfrog if the Commanders win more than one game the rest of the way. As a backup plan, the Packers hope New York loses every single game the rest of the season. The Vikings being at home bodes well for the Packers, however this is still the same Vikings team that got down 33-0 vs the Colts (yes, I know they still won).
Game Number Four: 49ers Vs. Commanders
The Commanders (7-6-1) will travel out west to play the 49ers this weekend. The 49ers are playing great football as they have won seven games in a row. The Commanders just suffered a home loss to the Giants last weekend and are holding onto that seventh seed for dear life. This feels like a game that San Francisco should win, however, we all know the NFL is a week-to-week league.
In Conclusion:
All four teams Green Bay needs to win this weekend will be playing at home. Green Bay will need to win on the road in Miami to keep their hopes alive, however Packers fans will certainly be scoreboard watching these games as well.
