The success of the Wisconsin Badgers reaches past the college football circuit, with plenty of former Badgers making appearances on NFL rosters each week. We’ll take a look at the standout performances from Week 7 games in the NFL with former Wisconsin Badgers involved.
Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos
The Broncos welcomed the Green Bay Packers on Sunday in a battle of teams that have had their struggles this season so far. Russell Wilson was good enough to lead the Broncos to a 19-17 win over the Packers. He went 20 for 29 with 194 passing yards and one touchdown. While he wasn’t at his best, he was just good enough to get the Broncos past the Packers.
The lone touchdown he threw was to Courtland Sutton, who had 6 catches for the Broncos.

Matt Henningsen was also on the field for the Broncos. The Former Wisconsin Badgers defensive end recorded two solo tackles on the day.
Former Wisconsin Badgers Runningback Jonathan Taylor
The Colts lost their game to the Browns 39-38, but Jonathan Taylor was the main piece of their running game. The former standout for the Wisconsin Badgers rushed for 75 yards across 18 carries and punched a touchdown through, his first of the year.
We’ve sure missed this sight. Welcome back to the endzone, @JayT23! 🫡#NFLBadgers x #ForTheShoe

He also had three catches for 45 yards from QB Gardner Minshew on the day as well. It’ll remain to be seen if he continues to be the main piece of their running game after this performance.
TJ Watt and the Pittsburgh Steelers
TJ Watt is having a season for the ages, and it continued in the Steelers win 24-17 over the Rams. While he wasn’t the best player on the defense for the Steelers this week, the Wisconsin Badgers alum snagged his first interception of the season while recording one tackle. That pick directly led to a Steelers touchdown in the 3rd quarter that allowed them to take the lead 10-9.
@_TJWatt will take that, thank you! 🙌

Nick Herbig is another of the Wisconsin Badgers alumni in action this weekend, and he didn’t disappoint. He had two tackles on the day and even recorded his first sack with tackle for a loss on QB Matthew Stafford. Herbig became the 7th rookie LB this season to record 1 or more sacks in a single game.
LET’S GOOOO ‼️
