As the Green Bay Packers get set to face off against the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field in Week 18, a lot of is on the line. If the Packers win, they will punch a ticket into the playoffs as either the No. 7 or No. 6 seed in the NFC. On the other hand, if they end up losing to their arch-rivals, the Packers will almost certainly be watching the playoffs from their couches.
There are a lot of nerves about this matchup within the fan base. Playing a big rival is never an easy task in and of itself. Add in the fact that the Bears have been playing much better football and that Justin Fields is always a tough cover for the Packers and things get even more nerve-racking.
Despite those issues, the Packers are the better team on paper. They are starting to get healthy at the right time as well. If they play their game, they should pull off a win.
Former Green Bay Packers QB Sends Warning To Team
As has been the case throughout the majority of the 2023 NFL season, former Green Bay Packers Kurt Benkert is talking about the team in Week 18. He is leery about the matchup with the Bears.
Benkert took to Twitter to share an ominous sounding tweet for the Packers.
Packers v Bears is a real uncomfortable matchup scheme wise at this point in the year.
— Kurt Benkert (@KurtBenkert) January 3, 2024
Despite how much Packers fans want to think that the Bears will be an easy win, Benkert is 100 percent correct.
When looking at the two teams, the Packers’ defense has been rough all season long. They came through with a huge game in Week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings, but Joe Barry is not a good defensive coordinator.
Fields is one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the game. If the Green Bay Packers can’t contain him, the Bears have a very good chance of sending them home in Week 18 for the second year in a row. Everything will depend on how the defense can perform against Chicago.
Only time will tell what the Packers are able to do against the surging Bears. Chicago has been waiting for this matchup after getting blown out by Green Bay in Week 1. The stage is set, now we just have to wait and see which Packers team shows up for the battle.
