Craig Counsell has been managing the Milwaukee Brewers since 2015. Throughout his tenure he has been ejected from baseball games a fair amount of times. His most recent ejection was one too many in regards to the Brewers history books as he now is the franchise’s leading manager in ejections with 26.
Entering Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels, Craig Counsell was tied with Phil Garner and Ned Yost with 25 career ejections. Garner managed the team from 1992-1999 and Yost 2003-2008.

Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell is now the franchise leader in ejections.
The record setting ejection for Craig Counsell occurred during the sixth inning. Willy Adames was up to bat and getting set in the box when the Angels pitcher Jaime Barria threw his pitch. Having not engaged the pitcher, Adames tried to call timeout but it was not granted. The pitch was high but was called a strike.
In disbelief Adames stepped out of the box and tried to plead his case. He then was issued another strike because the pitch clock was running and dropped below eight seconds in the process. This caused Craig Counsell to come out of the dugout to discuss it with home plate umpire Adam Beck.

After Counsell was tossed, Adames struck out and was tossed shortly afterwards. It was an insane sequence of events that was exacerbated by the fact that Adam Beck’s strike zone was rather questionable all night.
