Green Bay Packers fans called out wide receiver Christian Watson for his effort on the final play of the game on Monday night. The Packers were trailing the Las Vegas Raiders 17-13 inside of a minute to go in the game when quarterback Jordan Love launched a 35-yard pass intended for Watson.

Love underthrew the pass, and Amik Robertson intercepted the pass to seal the win for the Raiders. That was Love’s third interception of the game.

Green Bay Packers fans react to Watson’s effort

Watson was visibly frustrated after the play. Watson begged an official for a pass interference call, but that wasn’t answered. (There was slight contact by both sides.) He stayed on the bench after the game, looking upset.
Packers fans thought Watson should have fought back to the ball to force a pass interference call. Here are the best takes of fans calling out Watson for poor effort on the interception.
Watson didn't try that's why the arm is extended if he goes for it it's a free pi

Weak effort by Watson there. Wasn’t PI.

Christian Watson had two balls this game that he could’ve caught for big plays if he’d come back to the ball, and both would’ve been PI at a minimum.
— Matt Lorenz (@Lorenz2012) October 10, 2023
Watson has to jump through the defender and get the PI call there. Jordan has to grow a lot. All the Packers fans need to adjust the expectations to this being a rebuilding year if the youngest team in the NFL because they aren't ready to compete for anything meaningful.

Christian Watson should have been smart n gotten the offensive PI and not let the db catch the pick. Sometimes a penalty is the best case scenario

WRs aren’t aggressive. If Watson tries to get that last ball, it’s at minimum PI on the defense. Dude just kept running and didn’t even try to catch it

I’m just as big of a Packer fan as you, but good luck getting a PI call on that play. If Watson comes back to the ball and fights for it maybe it gets called, but not floating backwards. He gave up on multiple balls in the air tonight.

Watson had three balls that if he fights for the ball he gets PI or makes the catch.
