The Kansas City Chiefs had their bell rung during Super Bowl 59 against the Philadelphia Eagles. A 24-0 lead in the first half exploded to a 40-22 victory on the biggest stage in sports. However, Kansas City’s loss was pretty meaningful for the Packers.

Even though their team did not make it to the Super Bowl, Green Bay Packers fans have a good reason to be happy about the outcome:
With a 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Kansas City Chiefs were not able to complete a three-peat.
While it would have been the first three-peat in Super Bowl history, and the NFL made sure to promote it, the Packers had started a movement to value their own history. And now, it’s still safe.
The Green Bay Packers is the only franchise in the NFL to three-peat, and it has done it twice.
How it happened
The first three-peat was a long, long time ago, and the NFL certainly look way different back then. There were no playoffs or championship games. The best regular season team was declared the Champion. And the Packers got it three times in a row between 1929 and 1931, which included an undefeated season in 1929. Those were the first three titles in franchise’s history.
The second one is even more impressive, because the NFL was much more similar to what it is today.

In the 1965 season, the NFL and AFL were already in talks for some type of integration. But that was the last season in which an NFL champion was declared without a game against the AFL champion. The Packers beat the Cleveland Browns 23-12 in the NFL Championship Game.
After the 1966 and 1967 seasons, the NFL champion Packers beat the AFL champions Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders in the AFL–NFL World Championship Game, known retroactively as Super Bowls I and II.
