The Milwaukee Bucks returned to their winning ways on Sunday, as they escaped with a 125-127 win over the Philadelphia 76ers at home on Sunday. Without Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks heavily relied on the hot hands of Damian Lillard, who went off for 43 points on 14-for-27 shooting from the field, including eight connections from behind the arc.

But Lillard was not the only Bucks player who made a living from the 3-point area in the Sixers game, as Gary Trent Jr. scored 23 points on the strength of a 7-for-23 shooting from that range.

All of Trent’s field goals came from the 3-point region, as he missed all of his 13 other shots from the floor. Nevertheless, the Bucks got the win, while Lillard and Trent combined for a franchise feat never seen before in Bucks history.

Damian Lillard celebrates historic feat with message to Gary Trent Jr.

The Bucks posted after the win against Philly that Lillard and Trent became just the first Milwaukee teammates in franchise history to make at least seven threes each in a game.

Lillard shared that post via his Instagram account and added a message for his teammate: “Yea lol Gary.”

Other notable contributors to the Bucks’ win were Bobby Portis and Brook Lopez. Portis came off the bench and recorded 18 points and 13 rebounds while Lopez chipped in 15 points and eight boards.

Antetokounpo is reportedly going to miss games through the NBA All-Star break due to a calf issue, so expect the likes of Lillard, Trent, Lopez and Portis to get extra work on the court.

Up next for Milwaukee is a home game against the Golden State Warriors on Monday.
