Wednesday was a pretty disastrous day for the Green Bay Packers’ biggest rivals, the Chicago Bears. Apart from star quarterback Justin Fields seemingly firing a shot at the entire coaching staff over his slow start to the season, the organization was dragged into a real hot mess involving a rumored FBI raid at the home of defensive coordinator Alan Williams as well as at the Bears’ headquarters, Halas Hall.
Chicago Bears Deny Reports of Raid at Team Facility
This whole brouhaha must have been a major problem for Chicago’s PR team. So much so, that the team had to come out with a statement denying an FBI raid at Halas Hall.
Alan Williams, the man who is believed to be the source of this massive issue, resigned as the team’s defensive coordinator on Wednesday after being away from the team on a personal leave over the past week. The reason behind his leave as well as his sudden departure were not revealed. His camp also denied rumors that his home was raided by the FBI on Sunday evening.
NFL Twitter Shows No Mercy to Chicago Bears
While this is an alarming situation, the means streets of Twitter could not help but have a laugh at the expense of the Bears. As always, social media showed no mercy.
Apparently, there was an actual bear raid on Tuesday involving two wild bears and a Krispy Kreme truck in Alaska. Some folks on Twitter just could not help but make the connection:

One major revelation that surfaced amid this unwanted saga is the fact that Chicago icon Charles Tillman is now actually an FBI agent. Rumors emerged that it was Tillman who passed on the information about the supposed raid in Williams’ home to the Bears brass. Twitter had trouble wrapping its head around this Hollywood-like twist:
Bears legend Charles "Peanut" Tillman, who is now an FBI AGENT, alerted Chicago's highest management, including HC Matt Eberflus, GM Ryan Poles, and President Kevin Warren, of the raid on DC Alan Williams' home. #Bears pic.twitter.com/QggiR4sVur

Whether they are willing to admit it or not, more than a few Packers fans out there are probably taking a bit of pleasure in the Bears’ current predicament.
