January 15 is the date in which the international signing period begins. The Brewers have $6,366,900 in spending to use this year. $1,500,000 of that went to outfield prospect Yophery Rodriguez out of Venezuela. Rodriguez is ranked 22 on MLB Pipelines prospect list and at 17 is an advanced hitter. Here is a video of him clobbering a home run.

There is a lot to like in this video. Rodriguez’s swing looks nice and easy and the sound of the bat is alarming loud. He also displays quite a bit of bat speed.
