Well, the Milwaukee Brewers are postseason bound. They have punched their way to October with another NL Central Championship title under their belt. While we’ve already done a prediction on who should make the postseason roster, one name in particular deserves to be on there; Tyrone Taylor.
Tyrone Taylor’s Outstanding Season
A rookie in the outfield, Tyrone Taylor has earned himself a permanent roster spot going forward.
This is Tyrone Taylor’s fourth stint with the crew just this season; He saw some time in Nashville and also missed a couple of games due to a shoulder strain. Nonetheless, he’s come back, and continued to show his great power.
Taylor has seen some career bests this season, and the power he brings to the team is what they need. He’s batting a slash line of .239/.315/.457 with an OPS of .772 and OPS+ of 104. The righty has also hit a career high twelve home-runs, and driven in 42, respectively.
Tyrone Taylor has come up in clutch moments; May 9, he hit a go-ahead single that would aid in the win against Miami. Taylor’s also hit both of his career grand slams this season, his most recent being September 23 against the St. Louis Cardinals. He would then homer against Adam Wainwright in that same game in his second at-bat.

Unfortunately, the outfielder did have some trips to the IL this season; His most recent being August 21 with an oblique strain. He returned just in time to help the crew clinch the National League Central Division title.
In Thursday’s matinee game against the Cards, Taylor went three-for-three, scoring a run and stealing a bag. It’s games like these where Taylor has shown time and time again that he’s truly deserving of a permanent roster spot.
Future Plans?
Tyrone Taylor deserves a postseason roster spot. There’s no argument about it; He has proven time and time again that he knows how to put the ball into play and be a key player when needed. His bat provides a lot of power, and he can play outfield just like the veterans. It would be plain silly for Couns to leave Taylor off the postseason roster.
With Avisail Garcia potentially electing free agency, this also opens up an opportunity for Taylor to be an everyday player. Even if Taylor isn’t to have an everyday spot in next year’s roster, utilizing him in the postseason will be crucial.
Taylor’s waited a long time for this to happen, and October would be the right time to truly test his skills. With the Brewers destined to do great things this upcoming month, having Tyrone Taylor apart of that is the cherry on top of this exciting postseason.
