A Brewers prospect is exciting scouts
The Milwaukee Brewers will rely on youthful talent to progress quickly in their system. Following the Hunter Renfroe trade earlier this week, it’s clear the Brewers want their outfield prospects to come in and perform this season. One Brewers prospect in the infield is catching MLB scout’s attention.
The Brewers are looking at options for the catcher position this season. The team might have the position filled after next season. Zach Buchanan of The Athletic wrote about ten prospects in the Arizona Fall League that impressed scouts the most this year. Jeferson Quero was listed as the fourth most-liked prospect. He impressed scouts with his lively bat:
“One of the youngest players in the fall league, having just turned 20 in early October, Quero left a lot of scouts impressed despite hitting just .222 with a .679 OPS. The Venezuelan backstop might be the heir apparent to current Angels prospect Logan O’Hoppe as this fall’s Intriguing Dual-Threat Catcher Du Jour. “Not surprised others are talking about him,” one scout said.
What’s readily apparent is what Quero offers behind the plate. He’s got a plus throwing arm, with pop times sitting in the range of 1.79 to 1.82 seconds. This fall, he threw out 46 percent of would-be base stealers. He’s athletic and moves well behind the plate — athletic enough that, on the bases, one scout gives him 55-grade speed on the 20-to-80 scale — although his receiving could use some polish.”
Quero had an excellent fall league
Quero was named the Fall League Top 30 this year. That is an exciting development for the Brewers. It’s clear that he’s doing well with his slight frame. Quero should improve by the time he’s ready for the Major League in 2024. He’ll be a Brewers prospect fans will want to keep an eye on next summer in the minor leagues. Quero won’t solve the Brewers’ catcher conundrum this season, but he could be an exciting option for the team in years to come.

In other words, Arnold is tanking. When will writers start to crucify him? This is not what is wanted In Milwaukee. It was tried, and Milwaukee had a 96 games in the lose column. Since 1998, I’ve watched over 100 games a year. I watched 25 this. Pathetic team management. Get it straight Arnold
