Brewers Fans upset with the Hunter Renfroe Trade
Hunter Renfroe is now a member of the Los Angeles Angels. The announcement didn’t make Milwaukee Brewers fans happy. The Brewers announced Tuesday night the club had traded Renfroe to the Angels. The Brewers received three pitching prospects in return. Losing Renfroe saves the club some money as they will look to their ready outfield prospects to fill his role.
But his role will be a hard one to fill. Renfroe had 29 home runs for the Brewers last season. His production on offense will be missed on a club that narrowly missed the playoffs last season. The loss on offense will hurt, but the Brewers’ defense may get better in the future. The Brewers needed to add some pitching power to the roster after losing some pitchers this offseason. These prospects should help with that cause.
Brewers fans react to the news on Twitter
As soon as the Brewers announced the move on Twitter, fans posted their reactions. Most Brewers fans were upset about the Hunter Renfroe trade. He was arguably the best bat on the Brewers’ roster last season. Here are the best takes on Twitter Tuesday night:
I don’t know anything about Janson Junk but if you’re Matt Arnold, you have to find a way, any way, to not – in your first trade – acquire someone whose name is a synonym for trash. Optics people! https://t.co/5JzNocyWtg

Trade away a fan favorite, and our most consistent hitter for 3 more pitchers on this team, these pitchers might be great but I will forever be mad about this trade https://t.co/GbRUNsSDC0

Two guys with ERAs over 6.00 last year and a guy with a solid 3.54 ERA but 4.70 in Double-A and 5.24 in Triple-A.

Red Sox fans will FREAK over this. According to most of them Renfroe is the GOAT and would've led Boston to an undefeated record last season. https://t.co/xgF2BqS4u0

Perhaps it’s Brewers fans that don’t understand what is going on? You’ve just cleared room in the OF for Frelick and taken $10-11MM off the books that could go towards Adames, Burnes, or Woodruff.
This team needed some bullpen depth and roster flexibility and we created just that. Not to mention the track record we have with guys that have a decent spin rate.
